Introducing the new "Chuck Huff MLBBSB". We dedicate this boat to a great waterfowler and friend, Mr. Chuck Huff. His namesake and the MLB BSB "Big Sneak Box" adorn our newest offering.
Barnegat Bay Sneakboxes have been around since the latter part of the 19th Century. A need to get an outdoorsman many miles across the broadwater, both safely and effectively, to where waterfowl, fish, clams, and other food staple items were in abundance; brought about the need for such a boat design. This time tested craft has faithfully and skillfully achieved the purpose of its creator. Here is an excerpt from Nathaniel Bishop's fabulous book written in the 1870's, entitled; 'Four Months in a Sneakbox':
Captain Hazelton Seaman, of West Creek village, New Jersey, a boat-builder and an expert shooter of wild-fowl, about the year 1836, conceived the idea of constructing for his own use a low-decked boat, or gunning-punt, in which, when its deck was covered with sedge, he could secrete himself from the wild-fowl while gunning in Barnegat and Little Egg Harbor bays".
The original design featured a displacement hull, just as our Zach Taylor Sneakbox Wigeon and Gunship do. The new Chuck Huff MLBBSB features a planing hull which is well suited for outboard motor boating performance.
The specs on the boat are as follows:
- Overall length: 13'6"

We are designing a second upper deck that will feature a different cockpit dimension. This second deck choice will afford more room to store decoys outside the boat, rather than inside. Dimensions are as follows:
48" long X 32" wide.
With a hunter, his or her dog, gun, gear, and a vast amount of decoys, expect speeds up to 25 miles per hour with a 15 hp outboard motor. The boat also performs well with mud motors, trolling motors, and oars.
As with all of our boat models, we are very proud to bring the Chuck Huff MLBBSB to market. Improving on an age old design, we believe this new model will create a lot of opportunities for great adventure.
