For 2 seasons now, we have been testing and perfecting a blind mechanism that will take our Lake Erie style layout boats, and turn them into fully functional and truly effective hunting devices for the shallow water areas where puddle ducks and Geese prefer. This second offering in
our Extreme Puddler Series is a more cost effective solution to how to blend into sparse surroundings in flooded fields, marshes, and any emergent vegetation that we hunters come in contact with.
All this is done without adding any drill holes, or compromising the boat hull in any way.
We call this new boat blind the MLB Extreme Puddler II. Another advantage over our Extreme Puddler boat blind, is the increased vision this
style affords the hunter.
The Extreme Puddler II is available for our MLB Classic, Tallahatchie, Supermag, and MLBII layout boats.
The Extreme Puddler II shown here on our MLB Classic is a sleek, form fitting, hand sewn enclosure that completely encapsulates the boat, below the waterline, and is held in place by a strong bungee system. Openings for the cleats are sewn in, and equipped with velcro closures. The same holds true for the cockpit. The entire cockpit opening is held in place by velcro, allowing the hunter to cover up as much as he or she sees fit. Add to that, a series of grassing strips for adding native vegetation, or grass panels.
The same holds true for our MLB Supermag boat. This very popular boat now affords the hunter the capability of being a very low profile hide in spots that are virtually impossible to conceal a boat in. The construction mirrors that of the Classic Extreme Puddler II as indicated above.
And if you own our MLBII, here is a version of the Extreme Puddler blind in action. Flock after flock of geese won't even know you're there, when hunting with your children, or your best hunting buddy. And, there's room for a dog to be worked out of this boat blind as well.
Built specifically for this boat, the design offers a split cockpit cover, which separates the cockpit for the days that only one person will hunt from it. This way, the other hunting port
can be kept closed, further increasing the stealthy attitude of the blind. And with the velcro cockpit cover, the blind can be closed when not in use, which further eliminates the possibility of water entering the boat.
The material used for the Extreme Puddler blind is a waterproof 500 denier Cordura in Fall Flight pattern. This pattern easily provides a great camo
base print for adding your own materials. We have discovered that using no additional camouflage still renders this boat very efffective.
